Following, the successful 16-year of partnership, the Lumax Cornaglia Auto Technologies Private Limited (“LCAT”), a subsidiary / joint venture Company between Lumax Auto Technologies Limited (“LATL”) and Cornaglia s.p.a., Italy, has expanded its operations by opening a new manufacturing facility at Chakan in Pune. LCAT is engaged in the business of providing emission products i.e. Air Filters, Fuel Tanks, etc. for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

Equipped with a dedicated 7,000 sq. ft. in-house Research & Development (R&D) laboratory. The new manufacturing plant is a one-stop solution for the complete vehicle-level emission products requirement of any auto OEM, in India and beyond. An initial investment of over Rs. 30 crore has been made by the auto component manufacturer. With a workforce of over 200 employees, including 30 highly skilled and experienced engineers, this facility will serve the emission products requirements of the Indian Auto industry. “This new facility, perhaps, is the only Indian company establishment to have Plastic Moulding Technologies In-house all under one roof – Injection, 2D Blow, 3D Blow & Rotational Moulding. We have become a One Stop Solution for complete vehicle level emission product requirements of any auto OEM”, said Vikas Marwah, Chief Executive Officer, Lumax Auto Technologies.

Soon after the commissioning of the new plant, LCAT also made a range of new products for its clientele. “We have developed plastic fuel tanks for Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) which can be combined with urea tanks, as per the new emissions rule. We are offering all three combinations to the market a fuel tank, with a urea tank (separately); or a fuel tank comprising a urea tank or adjacent to it. With the opening of this plant we would be able to offer better and varying customised solutions to the OEMs,” added Marwah.

The facility is equipped with modern precision European machines for best-in-class high-quality production for a diverse product range of Air Filtration Systems, Snorkels, Various Blow Moulded products like AdBlue Tanks (Urea Tanks), Degassing Tanks (Expansion or Coolant Tank), etc. A unique and niche technology of 3D Blow Moulding products like Hoses & Ducts will also be manufactured here. All the products comply with the new regulations laid by the Government of India and Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) and Real Driving Emissions (RDE) norms.

With the opening of this plant, LCAT has also entered the roto-moulding segment for manufacturing plastic fuel tanks, fenders, roofs, and mudguards along with the design and development facilities. LCAT earlier had its manufacturing facility at Chakan with a smaller area of 32K sq. ft., and given the increased business opportunities, the management decided to relocate the said facility to the above new and bigger facility. The brownfield construction is eco-friendly thanks to solar panels, covering the roof, with a capacity of 990KV and water recycling. Besides sales, product management, research and development, laboratory, machining, and assembly, the brand-new site houses a large warehouse that is intended to serve JIT to our valued customers.
