Automechanika Shanghai returns from 9 – 12 December 2014 and this year has focused on inviting both quantity and quality worldwide buyers following its successful efforts in exhibitor recruitment. More than 4,900 exhibitors from 39 countries and 86,000 visitors are expected, making it the world’s second largest Automechanika fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services.

Discussing the promotion of this year’s show to buyers, Mr Ji Xuecheng, General Manager of China National Automotive Industry International Corporation said: “We have expanded the promotional domain of the show, especially in the Middle, Northwest, Southwest of China, in Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Xinjiang, Gansu,Guangdong and Guangxi provinces. These areas contain the most second and third tier cities and have huge potential for auto consumption. Following advertising in auto parts and accessories markets, and through related associations organising visitor groups, we are expecting more professional buyers from these areas this year. To take advantage of our broad global network and resources, this year’s show has strengthened overseas buyers and visitors invitation from potential markets such as Eastern Europe, South America and the Middle East. What’s more, we have made every effort to invite global buyers and professional visitors from different natures of business including auto manufacturers, dealers, terminal stores and 4S shops, to cater for the varied needs of our exhibitors.”

Premium Buyers Club introduced for 2014 show

To secure the attendance of top quality buyers from across the world, Premium Buyers Club has been formed to enhance buyers’ experiences. It is an exclusive programme for high quality buyers at senior management level or those who hold full purchasing authority within the industry. It covers the whole automobile industry chain; from car manufacturers, distributors, 4S shops and repair workshops to car care service centres.

Commenting on the new initiative, Mr Jason Cao, Chairman of the Board of Management at Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: “Each year we strive to make Automechanika Shanghai bigger and better than the previous year, and our new and exclusive Premium Buyers Club is just one example of that. I’m confident it will have a positive impact on the experience for the high calibre of buyer groups already confirmed, which includes increased delegate numbers from domestic and overseas associations. We strive to ensure all visitors, including buyers, organisations, government sectors and media, find their experience both profitable and enjoyable.”

Top quality visitors and buyer groups confirm attendance

This year’s buyer groups represent the three major industry sectors: Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance and Accessories & Tuning.

  • Parts & Components

In addition to auto parts dealer groups, strong connections have been built with auto manufacturers and OEMs in automobile industry parks to form visitor groups for the show including APSIS, BAIC,  Changan, Chery, Dongfeng, GEELY, Great Wall and JAC. Influential associations from areas with high business potential in China and overseas have been invited. Confirmed associations include Auto & Motor Parts Chamber of Commerce of National Federation of Industry and Commerce, Ma’anshan Sub-Council, and the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) while expected additional overseas representatives are due from Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Poland, Russia, Thailand and Turkey, as well as increased visitor groups from Nepal and Columbia are expected, reflecting the increasing awareness of the show in emerging markets.

  • Repair & Maintenance

Leading domestic associations including Fujian Motor Vehicle Maintenance Trade Association, Hebei Auto Maintenance Industry Association, Henan Auto Maintenance and Repair Equipment Industry Association, will organise visitor groups to the show this year offering an effective platform for both suppliers and buyers in the industry to network. In addition, a visitor group of Global Automotive Aftermarket Association Summit 2014 will invite over 100 delegates from local councils to attend. Overseas representatives for this sector’s buyer group include the Indonesian Automotive Body Repair Association (ABBA) which relies heavily on imports for the Indonesian automotive market and has doubled its delegate numbers attending the show this year.

  • Accessories & Tuning

The Accessories & Tuning sector is growing at the show, reflected not only in the exhibiting space, which boasts a 20 percent increase, but also from the feedback of visitor groups.

To facilitate precise matching of buyers and sellers within this sector and to strengthen its position as a platform for both domestic and international markets, the show has organised buyer groups not only from domestic distribution channels, distributors, terminal stores and 4S shop buyers group, but also from OEMs and e-commerce suppliers. Members of the Jinan Auto Accessories and Car Care Association and the Hubei Chu Federation Car Aftermarket Industry Branch make up part of the domestic representatives which is an expanded group this year. In addition, the show has cooperated with various overseas leading media and prestigious industry associations. Korea brings a Car & Tech group that is double the size this year as well as another group organised by CARPOS, while Japan boasts two new associations: Japan Auto Accessories Manufacturers’ Association (JAAMA) and Nippon Auto Parts Aftermarket Committee (NAPAC).  Besides to sourcing, they will participate in the show’s fringe programme such as different forums and seminar as well as matchmaking programme.
