Cummins India Limited has appointed Gbile Adewunmi as its Managing Director and India Regional Leader, effective 1 November 2026. The appointment, approved by the company’s board on 8 October, will place Adewunmi in charge of the Indian business while he continues to lead Industrial Markets within Cummins’ Power Systems business. His three-year term is subject to shareholder approval.
Adewunmi currently serves as Vice-President of Power Systems Industrial Markets, working with customers and partners across industrial sectors, including mining. His responsibilities include mining technologies, hybrid-electric retrofit solutions and power systems aimed at improving equipment productivity and reliability while supporting emissions-reduction goals. He also oversees business areas spanning defence, marine, oil and gas, and rail.
He joined Cummins in 2012 through its Corporate Strategy group and subsequently held positions in on-highway accounts and product management between 2013 and 2016. He later took on marketing leadership responsibilities in South Africa and regional distribution leadership in Ghana before becoming Vice-President of Power Systems Industrial Markets in 2023.
Jenny Bush, President of Power Systems at Cummins, said Adewunmi’s experience across the business, customer-focused approach and ability to build high-performing teams make him well suited to lead Cummins India and the India region. She also highlighted his role in continuing to advance the Industrial Markets strategy alongside his new responsibilities. Commenting on his appointment, Adewunmi said he was honoured to take on the expanded role and work with teams across Cummins India, the India region and Industrial Markets. He described India as a critical market for Cummins and said he looked forward to working with employees, customers and other stakeholders to build on the company’s existing foundation. The appointment brings together leadership of Cummins’ India operations and Adewunmi’s ongoing global industrial-market responsibilities. His experience across strategy, product management, distribution and industrial power solutions will form part of his remit as he takes over the role in November.
