ICICI Lombard Achieves Guinness World Records™ Title in Its 25th Year

Distributes 25,468 Helmets in 12 Hours Across 14 Locations in New Delhi as Part of Its Road Safety Initiative

ICICI Lombard, India’s largest private general insurance company, has achieved a Guinness World Records™ title for the most helmets distributed in 12 hours, with 25,468 helmets distributed on August 10, 2026, across 14 locations in New Delhi.

The record-setting initiative was undertaken as part of the company’s flagship road safety CSR programme, ‘Ride to Safety’, which aims to promote responsible road behaviour and encourage greater adoption of helmets among two-wheeler riders and pillion passengers.

The drive covered 14 locations, including 13 schools, where helmets were distributed to students and parents. A road safety rally was also flagged off by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, in the presence of senior ICICI Lombard officials and representatives from the government and police.

The initiative marked a significant milestone in ICICI Lombard’s 25th year and builds on the company’s decade-long focus on road safety. Since 2015, the company has distributed more than 7 lakh helmets and impacted over 2.5 million lives across India through its road safety interventions.

Beyond helmet distribution and awareness campaigns, ICICI Lombard has been working across the road safety continuum, including prevention, enforcement and rehabilitation. The company has collaborated with traffic police to encourage safer road practices and has undertaken interventions in high-risk zones focused on developing zero-fatality solutions. Its efforts also extend to supporting accident victims through dedicated rehabilitation centres in Noida and Patna.

Speaking on the achievement, Ms. Sheena Kapoor, Head – Marketing, Corporate Communications & CSR, ICICI Lombard, said, “Achieving a Guinness World Records™ title is a proud milestone for us at ICICI Lombard and a meaningful moment in our 25-year journey. Since 2015, road safety has been central to our community initiatives, and ‘Ride to Safety’ has helped us take this commitment to beneficiaries across India. Distributing 25,000+ helmets in just 12 hours demonstrates the impact that collective action can create. For us, however, road safety goes beyond a record it is about encouraging safer choices, responsible road behaviour and stronger communities. From helmets and awareness to zero-fatality corridors and rehabilitation, we remain committed to working with our partners and stakeholders to help reduce fatalities and create lasting change on India’s roads.”

The Guinness World Records™ recognition marks another milestone in ICICI Lombard’s road safety journey. The company said it will continue to focus on community-led interventions aimed at improving road safety awareness, encouraging responsible mobility and contributing to safer roads across India.
