Leading the display was AxTrax 2, ZF’s integrated and modular electric axle developed for light- and medium-duty bus applications. The system integrates the electric motor, inverter, electronic control unit (ECU), transmission and actuator into a compact axle assembly, simplifying vehicle architecture while supporting battery-electric, fuel-cell and trolley bus platforms.
ZF also presented the RL82A front axle, engineered for low-floor city buses. Designed with steering angles of up to 55 degrees, the axle enhances vehicle manoeuvrability while supporting wider centre aisles and improved passenger accessibility. The system also incorporates internally ventilated disc brakes and a low-maintenance architecture to improve durability under demanding operating conditions.
Another highlight was the company’s Door Control Solutions, available for both pneumatic and electric door applications. The modular electronic system incorporates features such as clamping protection, emergency door operation, CAN-bus communication and configurable software architecture, enabling OEMs to adapt the system across multiple bus platforms.
ZF also displayed a comprehensive portfolio of advanced vehicle technologies including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Electronic Braking System (EBS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Controlled Air Suspension (ECAS), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Bus Connect, eComp Lite, bus dampers and V-Rod technologies, reinforcing its focus on intelligent, software-driven commercial vehicles.
Commenting on the showcase, Akash Passey, President, ZF Group India, said the company continues to combine globally proven technologies with local engineering expertise to support India’s rapidly evolving commercial vehicle industry. He noted that electrification, connectivity and active safety will play a critical role in shaping the future of public transport and commercial mobility.
Paramjit Singh Chadha, Senior Vice President, ZF CVS India, said future commercial vehicles will increasingly rely on integrated technologies that combine electrification, intelligent vehicle control and connected systems. He added that ZF’s scalable technology portfolio has been developed to help OEMs improve vehicle performance, passenger safety, operational uptime and total cost of ownership.
Complementing its OE technologies, ZF Aftermarket showcased a range of OE-quality service solutions, including 360-degree camera systems, brake pads, brake rotors, brake linings, Golden Cartridges, power steering pumps, coolant and grease, supporting improved vehicle lifecycle performance and fleet reliability.
Through its participation at Prawaas 5.0, ZF Group reaffirmed its commitment to advancing India’s commercial vehicle ecosystem by delivering integrated technologies that support electrification, active safety, connected mobility and next-generation vehicle engineering.
