Axalta Coating Systems showcased its latest coating technologies for the commercial vehicle industry at Prawaas 5.0, highlighting solutions designed to support sustainability, lightweight vehicle construction and electric mobility.
As one of the leading coating suppliers to India’s bus segment, the company presented a portfolio of advanced coating technologies aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency while addressing the evolving requirements of commercial vehicle OEMs, body builders and fleet operators.
Among the key technologies on display were low-cure coating systems compatible with FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) substrates, enabling lightweight bus body construction while reducing energy consumption during the painting process. According to the company, the technology delivers high-quality finish and durability without compromising production efficiency.
Axalta also highlighted its waterborne coating technologies, which help reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions during vehicle manufacturing, supporting cleaner production processes and improving workplace air quality.
00With electric buses gaining momentum across India, the company showcased its dedicated e-bus coating portfolio, covering body coatings, motor insulation Axalta Showcases Sustainable Commercial Vehicle Coating Solutions including wire enamels, impregnating resins and electrical steel coatings—as well as battery assembly materials. The portfolio is designed to support manufacturers across multiple stages of electric bus production.
In addition, Axalta demonstrated its heat-reflective coating technology, which helps reduce thermal load inside electric buses, contributing to improved energy efficiency and potentially extending vehicle operating range under demanding climatic conditions.
