Valeo, a global leader in automotive technology, announced a major step with the nomination of Valeo Smart Safety 360 (VSS360) system by one of India’s leading OEMs. The system will provide advanced driving assistance functions for commercial vehicles. This new version of VSS360 is designed specifically for the Indian market, and it will be manufactured at its state-of-the-art facility in Sanand, Gujarat.

The “one-stop shop” ADAS system provides a robust set of safety and comfort functions, including Moving Off Information System, protecting pedestrians and cyclists during pull-away, Blind Spot Information System, monitoring critical side zones for vulnerable road users, and also main ADAS functions such as Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning.
Moreover, the system is enabling seamless software updates to maintain peak performance via over-the-air updates throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle. Our system also includes Driver Drowsiness & Attention Warning software, which actively monitors the driver’s attention level to mitigate the risk of accidents caused by fatigue.
Valeo Smart Safety 360 is a cost-optimised ADAS solution that offers best-in-class driving performance in a scalable 1-box ADAS solution where radar fusion is integrated in the smart front camera. It enables OEMs to optimise costs and efficiency by removing individual Electronic Control Units (ECU) while being easy to integrate into existing vehicle architectures.
The system developed for the major Indian OEM has been tailored for the Indian market. It will meet the upcoming General Safety Regulation, including reducing road accidents caused by driver fatigue. It will ensure optimal performance and system reliability thanks to 3 radars and one camera developed, manufactured and integrated by Valeo with state-of-the-art computer vision technology.
A key advantage of this system is the Univolt Camera, which operates across both 12V and 24V architectures. This allows the technology to be deployed across the entire range of commercial vehicles, from Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) to Heavy Duty trucks.
