Servotech Renewable Granted Patent for CCS2 to GB/T EV Charging Conversion Technology

Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. (NSE: SERVOTECH), one of India’s leading EV charger manufacturers and renewable energy technology companies, has been granted a patent by the Indian Patent Office for its latest innovation titled “System and Method for Charging an Electric Vehicle.” The patented technology represents a major advancement in India’s evolving EV charging ecosystem and directly addresses long-standing interoperability limitations between multiple charging standards.

The newly patented system enables GB/T-based electric vehicles to be charged using CCS2 DC fast chargers, which are rapidly becoming the dominant standard across India. While the industry transitions toward CCS2, a large segment of existing EV fleets particularly older buses, commercial vehicles, and institutional fleets continue to operate on GB/T technology. Servotech’s solution functions as an intelligent conversion interface that bridges both power-delivery and communication protocols, allowing safe, efficient, and fully compliant charging of GB/T vehicles through CCS2 infrastructure.

The device has completed successful field trials on selected GB/T-enabled EV buses and commercial cabs. Test results demonstrated stable charging performance, proper protocol translation, accurate parameter synchronization, and robust safety behavior under real-world operating conditions. Servotech is evaluating broader deployment across fleet operators, public transport undertakings, charge-point operators, and large commercial charging hubs.

Commenting on the patent achievement, Arun Handa, Chief Technical Officer, Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd., said:

“This patent reflects Servotech’s ongoing commitment to solving industry-critical technical challenges with scalable and practical engineering solutions. Our CCS2–GB/T conversion system will help bridge India’s charging compatibility gap and enable existing fleets to transition smoothly as the country adopts unified charging standards. Innovations like this strengthen the foundation for a more efficient, interoperable, and future-ready EV ecosystem in India.”

The patent reinforces Servotech’s mission to advance India’s EV infrastructure through indigenous technological innovation and deep domain expertise in power electronics, charging systems, and protocol engineering.
