The 11th edition of ACMEE 2014 was kick started at Chennai Trade Centre, with a positive note. Organised by Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association (AIEMA) the exposition has attracted more than 450 participants including 125 exhibitors from 30 countries including Austria, Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK and the US. The event also witnessed new product launches from companies like AMS, Arrow Machine Tools, Autotech, Mazak India, Mitsubishi, Murata, Schunk India and Transtecno, where they have planned to launch their latest products at the expo.

IMG_2085Inaugurating the 5-day event, Srivats Ram, Managing Director of Wheels India, said, “The industry is looking to revive soon and the industry must gear up for the growth phase and invest in getting ready for the upturn. Better times are ahead of us and with the new government taking lot of initiatives to boost the industrial growth, we as the industry must also do everything possible to ride the curve.”

The Chairman of ACMEE 2014, S Chandrasekaran said, “The current edition will focus on products, solutions and services in the areas of CNC machine tools, automobiles, mechanical and plant engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, information technology (IT) and software. He further said that the show is of international standards with the approval of India Trade Promotion Organisation for foreign participation. ACMEE 2014, thus, is a mammoth affair catering to a range of interests useful for the industries – both exhibitors and buyers,” he added.

Participants ate the fair include CNC machine manufacturers, CNC & PLC controls, CAD / CAM systems, cutting tools and accessories, special purpose machines, pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial robotics, instrumentation, low cost automation, machinery & machine tools, welding, material handling systems, environmental machinery, energy saving solutions, sheet metal press, laser cutting, cleaning systems, cold forging machines, co-ordinate measuring machines, control devices, power tools, system consultancy, sub-assemblies services, testing & measurement equipment and related IT & consultancy services are displaying their wide range of latest products.

This biennial industrial exhibition for engineering goods help manufacturers to exhibit their products to about a lakh of visitors expected for this show. Chandrasekaran is optimistic of generating over Rs 250 crore as the exhibition is also focussing attention on international sourcing of machinery and materials.
