Toyota Kirloskar Motor exchanges MoU with Indian Sugar Mills Association

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) to promote the use of ethanol as a sustainable biofuel in India. The two companies aim to accelerate the adoption of ethanol as a clean fuel, contributing to India’s goal of lowering dependence on fossil fuels and carbon emissions. The Government of India has set an ambitious target of achieving 20% ethanol blending in gasoline by 2025. TKM and ISMA’s collaboration will increase farmer incomes and create new jobs while boosting the agrarian economy. The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at an event that marked the 120 year of establishment of the first Sugar Mill in the state. Through the adoption of Flexi-Fuel Vehicles and Flexi-Fuel Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Toyota Kirloskar Motor aims to create a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape in India.
