Under the ‘Adopt a School Project’, Goodyear has established a new computer lab in partnership with the International Association of Human Values (IAHV) for the students of Zila Parishad Primary School, Gadiwat, Aurangabad. Over 250 students, teachers and community members attended the inauguration ceremony of the new learning facility.

Aligning with the Government of India’s initiatives to promote digital education, such as DIKSHA, PM E-Vidhya, and E-Paathshala, the computer lab facility is said to provide students access to a comprehensive information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure enabling them and their teachers to leverage the benefits of these programs.

The Inauguration Ceremony was attended by Dipali Thavare, Block Education Officer, Aurangabad District; and representatives from Goodyear including Varsha Jain, Head, Legal and Compliance and Ramesh Alva, Manufacturing Director, Aurangabad plant.

Sandeep Mahajan, Chairman and Managing Director of Goodyear India said, “As a responsible corporate citizen, Goodyear is giving back to the community where we operate. Goodyear has been continuously investing in projects on environment, healthcare, education, and road safety in the region. “Adopt a School” is a project which lies close to our hearts, and we have been able to create a significant impact on students and schools. It is a matter of pride for us that students of Zila Parishad Primary School, Gadiwat will be able to access a healthy, sustainable and conducive learning environment”.

At the event, Dipali Thavare, said “ I am very happy to see the school performing well. I am thankful to the Goodyear team for providing the computer lab to the school. Witnessing the performance of the students and enthusiasm of the community, we will work to ensure the school reaches new heights.”
