The new entity will initially focus on developing products such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC). This greenfield project, funded by Brakes India and ADVICS with a 51:49 shareholding, respectively, will be established in southern India with an investment of over INR 500 crores and will employ more than 300 people over the next few years.

Mr. Vasudevan K, President of Light Vehicles at Brakes India, emphasized the importance of advanced braking systems in the context of the growing hybrid and battery electric vehicle market in India, as well as the increasing demand for autonomous driving features. He highlighted that the partnership with ADVICS will accelerate the adoption of these systems by combining Brakes India’s R&D and localization efforts with ADVICS’s global technology expertise.

Mr. Keizo Oda, Chief India Officer at ADVICS, expressed confidence in the joint venture, praising Brakes India’s extensive experience in the Indian automotive industry and noting that the partnership would enhance safety offerings for Indian consumers. Over the years, Brakes India has heavily invested in R&D and localization, and this collaboration is seen as a strategic move to strengthen its capability in advanced braking solutions and efficient braking for alternatively fueled mobility. The partnership leverages the longstanding, fruitful relationship between TSF and AISIN Group, positioning it as the optimal choice for advancing braking technologies in India.
