The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), the apex body representing the Indian Auto Component Industry in association with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), has organised the first edition of Indian Auto Parts & Business Matchmaking show in Japan on 16-17 November in Tokyo and 18-19 November in Nagoya. The show supported by the Indian Embassy in Tokyo and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, government of India, will serve as an ideal platform to discover new opportunities – sourcing, joint ventures and technical collaborations for the auto component industries of the 2 countries as also leverage each other’s strengths.

This is the first ever such initiative by ACMA being organised in the backdrop of the earlier visit of the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi to Japan in September 2014. “Consistent focus on quality has helped the rapidly growing acceptance of India-made auto components in the global supply chain. During the last 3 decades of working together with the Japanese auto industry, Indian auto component manufacturers have embraced several Japanese Quality practices. That apart, the past few years have seen a systematic shift as Indian component manufacturers consciously move away from ‘Build to Print’ to innovation, R&D and creation of products and IP, furthering the cause of exports. Practically every major OEM in the world is today sourcing auto components from India, and we are ready to supply to the Japanese automotive industry as well, said Arvind Balaji, President, ACMA.
