Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, announced that the Punch.ev and Nexon.ev have both achieved a 5-star Bharat-NCAP safety rating. The Punch.ev attained the highest scores ever recorded with 31.46/32 for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 for child occupant protection (COP), while the Nexon.ev scored 29.86/32 and 44.95/49 for AOP and COP, respectively. This makes Tata Motors the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with a full range of SUVs scoring 5-stars in both Bharat-NCAP and Global-NCAP tests.
Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, congratulated Tata Motors, highlighting Bharat-NCAP’s role in enhancing vehicle safety and supporting India’s vision to become a global automobile hub. The Punch.ev, notable for its long range and advanced features, has gained popularity with over 10,000 units sold, particularly attracting rural market buyers. The Nexon.ev, a pivotal model in India’s EV revolution, has sold over 68,000 units since 2020, setting new benchmarks with its innovative design and technology.
