WABCO India has opened an Application Engineering Centre in Pune, which will have engineers jointly working with global commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturers in India to develop customised products and solutions. The new Application Engineering Centre will include both application and test engineers to provide support to its broad customer band. The Pune centre is the second of its kind for the company, and is claimed to help WABCO provide on demand and on time support to all its OE customers.
WABCO hopes to have 15 engineers at the Application Engineering Centre by the end of 2015. These engineers will provide a range of system design, application engineering and project management support to help customers develop new CV platforms and models.
“A new Application Engineering Centre was established to demonstrate the company’s commitment to strengthen customer relationships through flexible technology collaborations,” said P Kaniappan, Whole-time Director, WABCO. “We continue to differentiate ourselves as a partner of choice in India for globally operating manufacturers of commercial vehicles.”
“Tata Motors develops advanced and innovative products, and values WABCO’s support in partnering on joint product development projects,” said Dr AK Jindal, Head, Engineering for CV, Tata Motors. He further added that WABCO’s design and implementation of this new facility has exceeded Tata’s expectations.
