Parker Lord caught the attention of visitors. Describing their exhibit as attractive may not be an exaggeration! The essence of their entire Parker Lord product line on offer was showcased within the cutout form of a car. Each product was seamlessly integrated into the car’s skeleton, providing visitors with a clear understanding of its intended application. This display effectively conveyed the breadth of their product line.
Parker offers innovative solutions globally, serving the automotive, aerospace, industrial, and oil and gas markets. The company is committed to investing in new solutions for the benefit of people worldwide. The product line is mainly categorised into adhesives, coatings, and encapsulants; aerospace systems and technologies, air preparation (FRL) and dryers, bioprocessing and medical technologies, cylinders and actuators. The company also offers EMI shielding, filters, collectors, separators, purifiers, fittings and quick couplings, gas generators, hose, piping, and tubing besides motors, drives, and controllers, mounting and vibration control, Power Take-Offs (PTOs) and drive systems, pumps and refrigeration and air conditioning.

Their versatility and effectiveness make them essential components in ensuring the integrity and functionality of automotive sealing systems.
Rubber-to-substrate adhesives
Products such as the Autoseal 459D primer, play a crucial role in promoting adhesion to various materials, including Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE), Polyolefins (TPO), and EPDM. Widely utilised in weather stripping and glass coating applications, this primer boasts a solvent blend with reduced levels of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) (<1.6 per cent) and incorporates a fluorescent dye for enhanced visibility during application. The Autoseal 459D primer ensures strong and durable bonds between rubber and substrates, contributing to the reliability and performance of automotive sealing systems and other applications.
Lord structural adhesives designed for solar panel roof mounting prevalent at Greenfield manufacturing plants offer convenient application and reliable performance. For instance, Lord 810/20GB is a two-component acrylic adhesive with a flexible formulation, low exotherm, low shrinkage, and a fast cure time of just eight minutes. This adhesive provides a robust bond suitable for various mounting applications. On the other hand, Lord 320/322 epoxy adhesive boasts high load-bearing strength, solvent-free composition, and excellent resistance to high temperatures. With a curing time of 20-25 minutes, it offers a durable solution for securing solar panels to roofs, ensuring long-lasting performance and stability.
General elastomer solution
When choosing a bonding element, elastomers are often the preferred option. The selection of elastomer type and formulation depends on its intended function within the application. A wide range of rubber polymers, including natural rubber and various synthetic elastomers, are available for this purpose. Several factors should be taken into account when selecting an elastomer, such as the performance requirements of the part, ease of mixing, processing, and moulding. By carefully considering these aspects, manufacturers can ensure that the chosen elastomer meets the specific needs of the application while facilitating efficient production processes.
Chemlok 608 adhesive stands out as a one-coat solution specifically formulated to bond unvulcanised silicone elastomers to diverse rigid substrates. Its versatility extends to providing exceptional adhesion to a wide array of commercially available silicone compounds, even those necessitating post-curing processes. On the other hand, Chemlok 5150/5151 adhesive offers a similar one-coat application, tailored for bonding fluor elastomers to metal surfaces. Lastly, Chemlok 8116 adhesive provides a water-based one-coat option for bonding fluor elastomers to metal substrates, offering environmentally friendly adhesion without compromising on performance. These adhesive solutions cater to specific bonding needs, ensuring reliable and durable bonds between elastomers and substrates in various industrial applications.
LokRelease solutions
A versatile family of fast-curing release agents meticulously crafted for various applications, including the release of moulded elastomers, tyres, roto products, stripping of adhesives and mandrel release. LokRelease Solutions offers a semi-permanent, anti-stick surface coating facilitating swift, effortless part removal. Engineered to extend the time between mould-picking and minimise mould fouling, these solutions are claimed to optimise rubber moulding processes for enhanced efficiencies.
