Goodyear India Limited as part of its CSR initiative is supporting Government Girls Primary School (GGPS), NIT 1, Faridabad and Government Girls Primary School, Sector 3, Ballabhgarh in its aim to enhance the quality and accessibility of education for the girl child. As part of this initiative, infrastructural development and education quality enhancement activities were taken up in both schools.
`Adopt a School Program’ was conceptualized by Humana People to People India (HPPI) in partnership with Goodyear India Limited in November 2020 to provide quality education for girls after taking cognizance of the inadequate infrastructure, lack of educational facilities and shortage of sanitation facilities for girl child in these schools. In order to ensure greater participation of girls in education, various interventions under the Adopt a School program were introduced:
- Provision of remedial support for 200 girls (100 in each school) who are weak in studies so that they can continue with learning opportunities seamlessly
- Creating awareness and promoting good sanitation habits amongst children by providing toilet blocks and safe drinking water facility
- Upgrading school infrastructure for holistic growth by renovation of playgrounds and plantation of trees
- To improve the academic performance of children by providing e-learning infrastructure and address dropout rates through the interventions
To encourage the girl students, Goodyear India Limited and HPPI hosted an event to inaugurate the revamped schools on the occasion of International Women’s Day at the Government Girls Primary School, Ballabgarh. This event celebrated and recognized the contribution of girls in various fields of academics, sports and other co-curricular activities. The event was a step towards ensuring equal educational opportunities for girl child and ensuring equal access to educational amenities.

This initiative, implemented together with Humana People to People India (HPPI), will not only help in providing a holistic learning environment for girls but also promote diversity, gender equality and inclusion in society.”
Rajbala, Principal of Government Primary School, Ballabhgarh, thanked Goodyear and HPPI for their support and said “Earlier there was no progress but now the role of women has changed with the passage of time. Today, women are moving forward in every field and achieving success like Sania Mirza, Saina Nehwal, Sunita Williams and Kalpana Chawla who are the pride of our country”.
