The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) successfully organised the 58th edition of the ACMA Excellence Awards & 9th Technology Summit on March 05, 2024. This prestigious event celebrated the exceptional contributions and achievements of 59 distinguished auto component manufacturers, who were honoured with a total of 112 awards across various categories. The ACMA Excellence Awards, a hallmark event in the automotive industry, recognized outstanding performance in manufacturing, sustainability, digitization, localization, and exports. Through these accolades, ACMA acknowledges the unwavering dedication & innovation demonstrated by auto component manufacturers in India.
The 58th ACMA Excellence Awards ceremony was graced by esteemed guests from both the Government of India and the Industry. Notable personalities in attendance included Dr Hanif Qureshi, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India; Vinod Aggarwal, Jury Chairman of the ACMA Excellence Awards, President of SIAM, and Managing Director & CEO of VECV; and Professor (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor of SRM University (Haryana).
During the event, Shradha Suri Marwah, President, ACMA and CMD, Subros Ltd., highlighted the industry’s commitment to advancing sustainability initiatives. Marwah emphasized, “Indian auto component manufacturers have achieved remarkable progress, and it’s imperative to acknowledge and support them as they shape the future of mobility. The robust growth of our auto sector stands as a testament to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and our domestic demand. By prioritizing sustainability, diversity, and technological advancement, we’re not only driving economic progress but also leading the charge towards a greener, more inclusive future.” Marwah also extended her congratulations to the distinguished award winners, stating, “Their exceptional accomplishments not only demonstrate innovation but also serve as inspiration for the entire industry, setting a high standard for all. By leading the way, they are guiding the Indian automotive sector towards greater progress.”
The esteemed jury panel for the 58th ACMA Excellence Awards comprised prominent industry figures dedicated to recognizing excellence within the auto component manufacturing sector. The panel included Vinod Aggarwal, President of SIAM, and MD & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV); Sunil Kakkar, SIAM Aatmnirbhar Bharat Sourcing Group; and Senior Executive Officer – Supply Chain & Enterprise Strategy at Maruti Suzuki India. Other esteemed members of the jury included Sanjeev Jain, Director Purchase at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India; Ganesh Mani S., President & COO of Ashok Leyland; Vikram Yadav, Chairman of IPO Forum at ACMA and Director Purchase at BMW Motorrad; R. The event, themed “India’s Roadmap to Global Mobility Excellence: Technology, Sustainability, Circularity & Diversity,” underscored the importance of innovation and sustainability in the auto component industry. Senior government officials, industry leaders, and experts from across India convened to deliberate and discuss strategies for driving excellence in manufacturing and charting India’s course towards global mobility leadership. The discussions focused on technological advancements, sustainable practices, circular economy principles, and diversity initiatives within the automotive sector.
