ACI_March2016Growing Together

The 13th Auto Expo that concluded recently has grown over the years with manufacturer’s participation in ascending pace and with global brands once sneak-peeked establishing their grounds satiating the evolving needs of the customers. The expo has not only grown in size, but also the technical areas are wide opened with lot of innovations queuing-up. Matching the current situation, OEMs displayed their products with a few abiding by Euro-VI norms and choices of alternate fuel vehicles are strewn. As the GoI has decided to advance the Euro-VI or BS-VI emission norms implementation from 1 April 2021 to 1 April 2020, the vehicle manufacturers and component makers have started working on developing products for the same. In fact, the government’s first roadmap had proposed implementing BSVI norms from April 1, 2024.

The Component Show, the concurrent event has also grown in terms of size and the number of global participants. In-line to the current scenario, the global suppliers were also displaying their product offerings that complies with the BS-VI emission norms. As most of the global companies supply components to the OEMs present in Europe, it will be slightly easier for them to bring those technologies to India. But, at the same time it is not like copy paste a technology. To develop a BS-VI norms vehicle, OEMs and component manufacturers have to work in tandem to create a win-win situation.

The current issue is very special for us, as Auto Components India is stepping into the third year. The first 2 years went like a lightning speed and the magazine sowed has got deep-rooted and quality contents are shooted with a lot of tendrils sprouted for innovation lines to be added-up. The issue in your hands is the Second Anniversary special and to make it more lively, we have taken a hot topic ‘Make in India – Going Forward’. The initiative kick started by our Prime Minister in September 2014 to attract more investors into the country and to boost the manufacturing activity. The ‘Cover Story’ talks about the initiatives taken in the last one and half years and going forward what manufacturers are expecting from the government to make the initiative more materialistic.

The issue is packed with lot of stories and views including topics like fuel pricing and challenges faced by the auto component makers. As the industry is growing, we are also growing together and will continue to hitch in a faster manner.
