Tenneco Inc. has announced that Jaguar Land Rover has chosen its high-performance suspension technology for its all-new XE sports sedan. The vehicle’s lightweight, high-pressure gas monotube shock absorbers offer excellent vehicle stability and handling as a result of innovative valve technology. The special design provides more mounting options, higher potential damping levels and a better response compared with twin tube shocks.
According to Jaguar, the suspension on the new XE is 20% stiffer than previous X-models, giving engineers more freedom to create the ideal ride and handling balance. “We are proud to integrate our innovative monotube valve technology as a suspension feature on the all-new Jaguar XE with its state-of-the-art Advanced Aluminum Architecture,” said Sandro Paparelli, vice president and general manager, Europe Ride Performance. “Like Jaguar, we are committed to developing lightweight solutions that enhance vehicle dynamics and ride quality while helping to reduce fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions.”
