India Yamaha Motor (IYM) marked its robust presence in the overall two-wheeler market and announced a 20% growth in domestic sales (including Nepal) in November 2016. The company sold 51106 units in November 2016 as against 42719 units sold in November last year, thereby registering a domestic (including Nepal) sales growth of 20%.
It is noteworthy here that the 20% growth against November 2015 has been registered despite a sluggish market which impacted the automobile sector especially two-wheeler segment in tier-II and tier-III cities.
With this, the company continues to maintain an upward trend in sales at the back of its superb product line-up with innovative ongoing customer-centric activities. Yamaha’s increasing focus on expanding to tier II and III cities, thus reaching out to larger groups of target population has also been instrumental in boosting its sales.
Commenting on the company’s sustained growth, Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales said, “The continuous growth numbers are a sign of Yamaha’s robust business plan and strategic customer engagement programs. The company is en route to achieve 1 million in 2017 through exciting products and by expanding its 3S network. The rise of trend-conscious customers will continue to rev the market with excitement. This month, Yamaha achieved a decent sales volume in spite of the restrained growth in business activities due to decreased liquidity. It is more visible in semi-urban and rural areas particularly.”
