Hindustan Zinc in the global top 5 rankings of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2021
– Hindustan Zinc retained its 1st position in Asia-Pacific in Mining and Metal sector with top scores in three dimensions
– The company is also ranked 1st Globally in Environment dimension achieving a score of 88/100
Hindustan Zinc is pleased to announce that it has increased its global rating to 5th among 81 analysed mining and metal firms in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) 2021. Hindustan Zinc’s total score climbed from 74 last year to 76 this year, putting them in the DJSI’s global top 5 category. In the Index, Hindustan Zinc has retained its first place in the Asia-Pacific area, with top scores in all three aspects.

Hindustan Zinc, India’s and the world’s largest integrated zinc-lead-silver producer, places a great emphasis on maintaining the highest ESG standards, combating climate change, and water and energy conservation. The corporation is dedicated to the concept of sustainable development and has planned to invest $1 billion in green initiatives over the next five years. The rankings are based on the firms’ S&P Global ESG Score, which is determined by the annual S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which was announced on November 12th, 2021.
The Mining and Metal sector accounts for all of Hindustan Zinc’s rankings.
