India is a key component of EBM-Papst’s strategy for the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APAC & MEA) region because of its rapid growth. A 57,600 m² (14.2-acre) plot of land in Chennai has been purchased by ebm-papst as part of the planned production expansion. The upcoming construction project’s first phase will cost 36 million euros (INR 340 crore) and cover 23,000 square meters. The production plant, which is anticipated to be finished by the end of 2026, will allow the business to provide customized solutions and swift, flexible local customer service in the APAC & MEA regions.

“This investment reflects our long-term vision for India,” said Atul Tripathi, Managing Director of ebm-papst India. “By boosting local production, we are not only catering to the growing demand of our Indian customers but also creating sustainable employment opportunities that contribute to the country’s industrial development. Once fully operational, the plant will employ around 700 people.”The new plant is an important step towards strengthening the resilience of EBM-Papst’s supply chains and a further step in the “Local for Local” strategy.
