T.K. Kishor Kumar, representing the Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS), has been elected as the Vice-Chairperson of the International Cooperative Alliance Asia-Pacific Committee on Agriculture and Environment (ICAE). The election took place at ICAE’s Annual Meeting held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Prof. Madya Dato’ Abdul Rahman Abdul Razak Shaik has been elected as the Committee Chairperson. Kishor Kumar currently serves as Chief Project Coordinator of ULCCS and COO of UL Cyberpark.
ICAE is a regional committee under the International Cooperative Alliance Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) and is dedicated to strengthening agricultural cooperatives, promoting sustainable farming practices, enhancing farmers’ incomes, and supporting climate-change mitigation initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.
Kishor Kumar is also a Director at the National Labour Cooperative Federation of India (NLCF), the apex body representing nearly 47,000 cooperatives nationwide. He represents ULCCS in several national-level committees focused on youth engagement in cooperatives and advisory groups formed by the Ministry of Cooperatives.
He has participated in international study missions to Spain, Italy, and Brazil through UNDP, and has represented India at various global cooperative and productivity conferences in Australia, Sri Lanka, Iran, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, England, and Vietnam. He was also part of an official delegation to Iran during the tenure of former Kerala Labour Minister T.P. Ramakrishnan.
Kishor Kumar’s election to the ICAE leadership marks a significant milestone for Kerala and underscores India’s growing role in shaping cooperative and agricultural development across the Asia-Pacific region.
