EV & AutoTech Forum Spotlights India’s Role in Future Mobility



 India’s ambitions in clean and intelligent mobility were on full display at the third edition of the EV & AutoTech Innovation Forum, held in Pune. Organised by Konnect Worldwide Business Media, the day-long event brought together over 300 key stakeholders from the electric vehicle and automotive technology ecosystem to deliberate on the theme “Shaping the Future of Mobility.”

With participation from leading OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, tech disruptors and policymakers, the forum covered emerging trends across EV platforms, software-defined vehicles (SDVs), connected mobility, and next-gen infotainment systems. Notable attendees included executives from Jio Platforms, ARAI, Tata Motors, Stellantis, Harman, MediaTek, Maruti Suzuki, and Omega Seiki Mobility.

India’s fast-growing automotive software landscape and the increasing integration of AI and high-speed connectivity were dominant themes throughout the day.

Steven Lee, Deputy Director, Intelligent Software Development, MediaTek, noted:

“India is the fastest-growing connected car market, with a projected CAGR of 18% between 2025 and 2030, according to Counterpoint. Government policies, growing presence of global OEMs, seeking alternative sourcing hubs, and the rising importance of software in vehicles have together created a strategic opportunity for Indian players to enhance capabilities, accelerate growth, and establish India as a global automotive hub… Our collaborations with OEMs help to deliver immersive, advanced in-vehicle user experiences to reach AI defined Cockpit with cybersecurity capabilities and enhanced connectivity.”

Mohan Raju, Vice President & Vertical Head – IoT, Jio, highlighted the increasing fluidity between vehicle and personal environments:

“The connected vehicle ecosystem today is a rapidly evolving landscape where vehicles are not just equipped with internet connectivity but also with advanced cloud applications suites… Home2Car is fast becoming a reality… This interaction is increasingly voice commands powered allowing the user to ‘Speak with the car in his/ her native Indian Language’… This approach is fundamentally changing how vehicles are designed, used, maintained and therefore enhancing the overall value and experience of vehicle ownership for the customers.”

The forum featured expert sessions on SDVs, AI-ML convergence, EV hardware-software integration, and the role of OTA updates in modern automotive architecture. Fireside chats explored the monetisation of digital mobility and the localisation of clean tech innovation.

Micelio Discovery Studio and Exponent Energy showcased breakthrough solutions in green mobility, while Tata Motors, Skoda, MG Motors and Matter Mobility participated in a live vehicle display zone featuring the latest in connected vehicle design.

Offering the regulatory and R&D perspective, Ujjwala Karle, Sr. Deputy Director & Head Technology Group, ARAI, stated:

“Mass-scaling of the technology in India can be achieved by an integrated approach and a combination of virtual and experiential verification & validation process. We are open to collaborate with the manufacturers in Automotive domain in the field of R&D, technology development, testing & validation and engineering services.”

Reflecting on the broader collaborative push, Sivakumar Yeddanapudi, Global Vice President – Digital Cockpit and Connected Services Products, Visteon, added:

“India plays a pivotal role in driving the future of global automotive innovation. At Visteon, we’re proud to collaborate with MediaTek and other leading partners to accelerate the transition to software-defined, AI-powered vehicles…”
