Infosys, India’s second-largest Information Technology company, has signed a multi-year deal with Volvo Cars to provide application development services for its global operations. Infosys will develop applications to support multiple domains including marketing and sales, customer service, manufacturing, product development, and corporate functions.

We will be a strategic supplier for Volvo Cars to deliver excellence and innovation to transform their IT landscape to a modern architecture,” said Nitesh Bansal, vice president -Manufacturing Europe, Infosys. “This agreement also reflects our strategic focus on the Nordic market and strengthens our presence in Sweden,” he added.
Infosys has enjoyed long-standing relationship with the Sweden-headquartered auto giant as it has been supporting Volvo Cars since 2010 to rationalise and integrate its enterprise systems. Tech Mahindra, another major IT firm based in Hyderabad also announced that Volvo has selected it to provide end-to-end IT infrastructure support and services in key countries globally including Sweden, China and Belgium.

The company is excited to be supporting and sharing that vision for quality in each business area, he added.
This partnership will cover global datacenter, 4,000 factory devices in Sweden, Belgium, China and 2,800 servers will be managed and supported by Tech Mahindra. The service also covers 30,000 end users and their work devices, including parts of the Volvo Cars dealer network.
Volvo in India has been expanding its footprint in India by launching new products. Currently, the company sells five models in India which include S80, S60, XC60, XC90 and V40 Cross Country. Volvo will launch the facelifted S80 on March 19. – J Srikant
