Hosur, India: Tenneco Clean Air India Limited, part of the Tenneco Group, showcased its manufacturing scale, technology capabilities, and product portfolio through its Hosur plant, a key hub for advanced ride technologies.
The Hosur facility, established in 1983, focuses on Advanced Ride Technologies and includes the Dynachrome plating facility added in 2012. Spread across 31,306 sq. mt., with a built-up area of 14,141 sq. mt., the plant employs approximately 1,174 people. It features robust production capabilities, including multiple shock and strut weld lines, along with dedicated assembly lines for dampers and struts.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 8.0 million shock absorbers, including 7.07 million units in 2024, with 6.0 million catering to Monroe OE and 2.0 million to the aftermarket segment. It also houses a Dyna Chrome plating facility for piston rods with an annual capacity of 6.3 million units.
Tenneco also highlighted its DaVinci DCx suspension system, a next-generation mechanical damper technology designed to deliver superior ride comfort and handling. Built on a patented valve architecture, the system enables adaptive damping without the need for sensors or electronic control units. It offers a non-linear damping response, improving vehicle dynamics by reducing body roll, vibrations, and harshness, while enhancing ride quality and driving confidence.
The solution delivers near-premium performance and has already been adopted by a leading Indian OEM for a flagship SUV platform, underlining its commercial potential.
Arvind Chandra, CEO, Tenneco India, said:
“Our Hosur facility reflects Tenneco’s strong manufacturing and engineering capabilities. With DaVinci DCx, we are delivering innovative suspension technologies that enhance ride comfort, stability, and performance for evolving customer needs.”
