Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) has achieved a significant production milestone, having produced 350 million gears since the start of operations. The company began manufacturing precision-forged differential gears at its Gurgaon, Haryana plant in 1999 and added a plant in Pune, Maharashtra in 2005. Sona Comstar currently serves several top global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle, tractor, electric vehicle, and e2W markets from its Indian manufacturing facilities. According to Ricardo’s estimates, the company’s global market share of differential gears has increased from 5.0% in 2020 to 7.2% in 2022.
