The center is supported by the Vedanta Foundation and Birla Edutech Ltd, which have been actively involved in making education and skill development available and accessible to all.
In the first phase, Sterlite Copper is aiming to provide training to 600 youths, which will later be increased to 1500. They will also be supported in getting appropriate job placements, with the company committing to finding employment for at least 70% of the participants. The Vedanta Foundation will provide the training in partnership with Birla Edutech Limited (Training and Placement Partner). Dr. Pushpita, the Director of Academics and Special Projects, Birla Edutech/Birla OpenMinds, attended the inauguration ceremony and briefed about the skill training program.

Vedanta Foundation and Birla Edutech exemplify an extraordinary commitment to the community and it is the sense of purpose and focus towards the vision and mission of the group which has brought about the proud moment of initiating this program. With a strong belief that skill development linked with placement is an important instrument of transformation for any region, city, and county as a whole, the program is aimed at churning out a diversified core of graduates who will be the architects and engineers of a new economy – one that will be anchored in new knowledge.
The major thrust of its projects is focused on making people self-reliant by providing them opportunities related to livelihood and employment.
