An NGO name Club D2S also known as Drive Smart Drive Safe is relentlessly working in the area of Road Safety. On the occasion of the 3rd Anniversary of its campaign 1 Crore Steps, has launched its new initiative ‘PAHAL’ – Step Towards Changing Driving Behaviour on 28th of July 2021 under the umbrella of India Against Road Crash (IARC), an open collaborative platform. PAHAL is a certificate digital micro training initiative that is aimed towards creating mass awareness on Appropriate Driving Behaviour. The launch happened digitally over Zoom with more than 500 participants attending the inaugural session. PAHAL has been conceived and designed strictly considering the behavioral factors and related issues we face every day while we drive on Indian Roads.
The hardship behind the camera and its success has been designed on ‘Collaboration’ wherein Club D2S invites Industries, Organizations, Associations, Corporates, Schools, Colleges, and every road user to collaborate, be the agent of change and take the movement ahead.
The Inaugural Session was conducted by Mr. Ramashankar Pandey, Regional Head Asia – Hella Germany & Managing Director, Hella India Lighting Ltd. The session grabbed the attention of participants as soon as Mr. Pandey spoke about the road accidents and the related no. of fatalities. He also talked about various behavioral issues and the way out from the menace of road accidents by adopting Defensive Driving, a particular style of driving comprising of various techniques and tactics to commute safely while on the move. The program ended with a Road Safety Pledge which was undertaken by all the participants and everyone gave their commitment towards road safety.
The session was graced by Members from AITWA, ASDC, SIAM ACMA, FICCI, BGS International Public School, Eternal University, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Apollo Tyres Ltd, Hella India Lighting Ltd and St. Columba’s School among many others.
Club D2S will be running the campaign digitally for the next three months and wishes to collaborate with maximum road users and bring the change on our Indian Roads.
