Mercedes Benz India has launched the ninth product of its ‘Made in India’ portfolio, the GLC SUV at a starting price of Rs 47.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The local GLC will be available in both petrol and diesel options in three variants: 220 d 4MATIC Style, 20 d 4MATlC Sport and 300 4MATIC Sport.
The prices of the SUVs are – Rs 47.90 lakh (diesel, Style), Rs 51.5 lakh (diesel, Sport) and Rs 51.9 lakh (petrol). The GLC will be the fourth SUV to be locally assembled at Mercedes Benz India’s Chakan plant in Pune. Production of the GLC will commence within four months of the launch.
The ‘Made in India’ GLC 300 4MATIC features 1991cc engine which produces 245 hp output @ 5500 rpm, and 370 Nm torque @ 1300-4000 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds with maximum speed of 222 km/h. The 220 d 4MATIC comes equipped with 2143cc engine which gives 170hp power @ 3000-4200 hp, and 400 Nm torque @ 1400-2800 rpm. It can go from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 210 km/h.
The driving dynamics include 9-speed Automatic Transmission, 4MATIC permanent All Wheel Drive System and the SUV comes in five models – Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. In terms of infotainment features, the vehicle has NTG 5*2 Audio 20 CD with pre-installation for navigation, 7 inch colour media display, and MB apps with internet connectivity.
The interiors of the GLC Sport features a Panorama top sliding electric roof, lockable cargo floor, ambient lighting with 3 colour options, keyless starting function and active parking assistance with reversing camera.
