Goodyear South Asia Tyres Ltd. in partnership with International Association for Human Values (IAHV) is supporting Zila Parishad School, Jalgaon Mete in Aurangabad district. The motive behind this initiative is to develop good models for rural schools. As a partner of this initiative, Goodyear has undertaken the complete responsibility of infrastructural development.
A ceremony was held in November 2021, in which school facilities including the sanitation complex, science lab, library and multipurpose hall were inaugurated. Tree Plantation was also carried out on the school premises. The inauguration was held in the presence of Ashu Goyal (Manufacturing Director, Goodyear South Asia Tyres Pvt.), along with AB Gavhane (Additional Collector). This event was a step towards ensuring equal access to educational amenities for children.
On this occasion Sandeep Mahajan, Chairman and Managing Director, Goodyear India Ltd. said, “We are delighted to support the Zila Parishad School in Aurangabad under Goodyear’s ‘Adopt a school’ program. We endeavour to support the communities around us and help them thrive as sustainable development. This program is aligned with our focus on education as a tool for enabling a better future for the children in the community. This initiative implemented together with IAHV, will not only provide a holistic learning environment but also enhance the overall performance of these children, making them future-ready.”
Goodyear has launched various projects under its CSR initiative in Aurangabad including partnering with Environmentalist Foundation of India for restoration of Shenpunji Lake, supporting ‘Pothole-free City’ a road safety initiative implemented by ‘PotHoleRaja®’, and supporting Government Medical College & Hospital in Aurangabad with Personal Protective and Quarantine Ward Equipment.
