This World Environment Day, General Motors will be organizing various activities related to environment safety and conservation with a pledge to spread awareness around environment protection, sustenance and eco-conscious growth.
GM has collaborated with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) to organize PUC drives across its dealerships PAN India. There were also other unique initiatives like environment conservation tips to customers sapling distribution, tree plantations, green processions, and awareness rallies.
The objective of these drives is to create awareness among motorists to take the little steps to reduce their carbon footprint and giving proper knowledge to customers for proper maintenance of their vehicles which will provide benefit to them as well as to environment. There would total of 159 locations pan India who would be participating in the drive.
The company will also be working towards Lakes and Lake Maintenance awareness in Bangalore. Being conscious of their critical role in maintaining a healthy environment the initiative will provide an opportunity for the participants to play role as environmental stewards.
With intent to make significant and measurable impact, serving foundation of a cleaner, healthier and sustainable planet, GM India Talegaon celebrating Environment Day from 31st May and it will last till 15th June 2016. The site will be rolling out series of activities, encouraging employees to join hands for the Green Initiative including Cleanliness drive at Ghoravdeshwar Mountain, NH4 Highway, Pune and Tree plantation at GM India Premises.
