Ford Motor Company to invest Rs 1300 crore to setup a new Global Technology and Business Centre in Chennai that will serve as a hub for product development, mobility solutions and business services for India and other markets around the world. The 28-acre capus will house 3000 highly skilled employees over the next 5 years.
Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford said, “This new centre will help us attract the best and brightest and make Chennai a true hub of innovation for Ford around the world. India is not only a vibrant market for cars and new mobility ideas, it is also rich in talent, technical expertise and ingenuity.”
The new India-based tech centre in Chennai is expected be completed by early 2019 and will become Ford’s third global product development entrepreneurs in Asia Pacific and part of Ford’s local product development network.
