As more and more customers look to buy affordable products due to the lower disposable incomes and a tendency to save cash amidst Covid-19 crisis, the demand for Electric Vehicles (EV) is likely to get impacted. It could lead to manufacturers going back to producing conventional fuel-based vehicles claims a report titled ‘Towards a Clean Energy Economy: Post Covid-19 Opportunities in India’s Energy and Mobility Sectors’ prepared by Niti Aayog and Rocky Mountain Institute. As per the report, with manufacturers focused on resuming operations and revisiting the pending BSVI vehicles orderbook, delays in EV manufacturing are inevitably compounded with curbs on imports of components from China.
