Ducati India recently launched 3 all new Scrambler 1100 models: Scrambler 1100, Special and Sport here in India at a price of Rs 10.91 lakh, Rs 11.12 lakh and Rs 11.42 lakh (Ex-Showroom India) respectively. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 draws its inspiration from the iconic ’70s model while remaining faithful to the “Land of Joy” spirit. Larger than the other Ducati Scrambler brand models, the bike’s balanced proportions make it compact yet beefy and ensure outstanding rider comfort as well as unprecedented handling.
Sergi Canovas, Managing Director of Ducati India said, “The Scrambler range is not only one of our bestselling ranges here in India but the most versatile across all product categories within the big bike segment here in the country. With product appealing to almost every rider style possible the Ducati Scrambler provides a thrilling and unique riding experience. The all new Scrambler 1100 range of motorcycles are a true hipster with a lot of road presence and an extremely capable engine making its performance one of the best in class. It is a carefully thought out motorcycle in this segment with dripping technology and safety features like cornering ABS, traction control with an aim to meet the needs of even the most demanding, expert motorcyclists. This motorcycle has been designed to translate the freedom of expression characteristic that the Scrambler stands for and glorify the Land of Joy spirit.”
The all new Land of Joy is now bigger and better and is equipped with a new L-Twin, Desmodromic distribution, 2 valves per cylinder, air cooled – 1079 cm3 engine, which delivers generous torque of 88 Nm (65 lb-ft, 9.0 kgm) @ 4,750 rpm right from the bottom of the rev range, and an agile Scrambler chassis set-up that has been developed in parallel with the engine to put higher performance within reach of all riders.
The upgraded fork and rear shock absorber are, like the 320 mm dual front brake discs, indicative of a leap forwards in terms of both performance and mature styling. A high-performance swingarm merges smoothly with the lines of the footrest plates, enhancing the essential styling of the Scrambler 1100. The seat is more generously shaped than its Scrambler 800 counterpart and has been designed to provide the utmost comfort for rider and passenger alike.
The Scrambler 1100 also features Bosch Cornering ABS and Traction Control: two features that go hand-in-hand with the superbly comfortable riding position. The electronics package has evolved in line with Ducati tradition, to maximise active safety thanks to the Bosch inertial platform. Just like every other Ducati Scrambler bike, the 1100 is designed for boundless freedom of expression and comes with 3 Riding Modes unlike the other Scramblers: Active, Journey and City, for riders to transform the motorcycle into three different motorcycles for each distinct personality.
In addition to the Scrambler 1100, the bike comes with two more versions: Scrambler 1100 Special and Scrambler 1100 Sport. The Special version draws its inspiration from the custom world and comes with spoked wheels for that retro Scrambler look as well as lower ‘bars, chromed exhaust headers, a brown leather quilted seat and a brushed swing arm. While the Sport comes equipped with adjustable Öhlins suspension for the sportiest Scrambler riders and shares its wheels with the standard model, but has some extra machining on the spokes, and does away with the Marzocchi forks and Kayaba monoshock in favour of fully adjustable Ohlins bouncers.
In perfect Scrambler style, the 1100 also comes with new, specially designed accessories and a dedicated apparel line. The 1100 is available in ’62 Yellow and Shining Black color, with the Sport and Special in their own dedicated Viper Black and Custom Grey with yellow highlights on the tank color schemes respectively. The bookings are now open across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata & Chennai
