The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) will return as the one-stop trade platform for the automotive sector in Southwest China. CAPAS is scheduled to take place from 21 – 23 May 2015 and occupy 35,000 sqm of the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center. Organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto), Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sichuan Council (CCPIT-Sichuan), the fair is expected to host over 700 exhibitors and more than 15,000 global buyers. The show has streamlined its offerings into three main sectors: Parts & Components, Accessories & Tuning and Repair & Maintenance.
Jason Cao, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “CAPAS was Messe Frankfurt’s first trade show in Southwest China. The debut show in 2014 was a huge success, proving that there is great demand for auto parts and aftermarket services in Southwest China. The show is a professional platform offering special tailor-made services before and during the show, such as workshops featuring updates about the Southwest China auto market, a customised onsite fair schedule which includes visiting OEM factories and auto cities for auto parts. From this, industry players are able to expand their businesses and knowledge about the region’s emerging auto industry. Having established ourselves as a leading international trade fair organiser, we have an extensive global network and support that attracts more overseas exhibitors and visitors to CAPAS, especially from neighboring countries in Asia.”
Success of the first CAPAS attracted new endorser
Outstanding success of the first show has afforded CAPAS a new endorser from the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition, which is the government unit responsible for development of the exhibition industry in Chengdu. The Bureau provides coordination and operational guidance, as well as full government-based services for large conferences and exhibitions. Commenting on the organisation’s participation, Mr Mu Tao, Director of the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition, said: “Chengdu has been the top-ranked city of conventions and exhibitions in Central and Western China, as well as one of the leading cities throughout the country. Supporting CAPAS will allow us to facilitate the development of the city’s competitiveness in the automotive industry, which will in turn drive domestic growth. Bringing in international and well-established automotive exhibitions like CAPAS to Chengdu is thus strongly supported by the various local government sectors.”
Southwest China market shows enormous potential for the automotive market
Chengdu has proven to be a very promising market for the automotive industry. As a result, many automotive companies have made the favourable Southwest market their business priority.
Market analysis has shown that by 2015, Chengdu expects to produce two million vehicles and the industrial output value of the automotive industry will exceed RMB 250 billion, buoyed by a sustained development of Western China. Many global auto manufacturers already have great presence in the region, indicating a shift of this labor-intensive industry to the Southwest China. It is predicted that the auto market share in the Central Western region will increase to 55% by 2020.
CAPAS is a comprehensive and excellent platform that broadens up business network for the automotive industry in Southwest China. The fair connects exhibitors with international and domestic visitors where new business opportunities can be explored. It is also a place for industry players to learn about the latest automotive innovations, products and technologies. Value-added fringe programs are something both exhibitors and visitors can look forward to as they will showcase up-to-date industry insights, developments and trends of the auto industry.
