Bharat Forge, Agile Robots Partner to Drive AI-Led Industrial Automation

Bharat Forge has signed a memorandum of understanding with Germany-based Agile Robots S.E. to explore a strategic collaboration focused on AI-driven robotics and intelligent industrial automation for civilian manufacturing applications.

The Indo-German partnership will combine Bharat Forge’s manufacturing and domain expertise with Agile Robots’ capabilities in intelligent robotic and automation solutions. The collaboration will target sectors such as automotive manufacturing, healthcare, consumer electronics, industrial CPG and logistics, and will remain restricted to non-defence applications.

Under the MoU, both companies will co-develop and deploy bespoke automation solutions for manufacturing and logistics environments, including adapting Agile Robots’ existing solutions for India and Southeast Asia. Another key focus area is the development of advanced vision- and AI-based robotic systems to enable highly autonomous manufacturing environments, often referred to as “dark factories”.

Commenting on the collaboration, Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge Limited, said the partnership reinforces the company’s ambition to deliver intelligent robotic and automation solutions across industries while supporting India’s rapidly growing manufacturing ecosystem.

Rory Sexton, Executive Director at Agile Robots, said the collaboration strengthens Agile Robots’ position in India by combining its AI-driven robotic automation expertise with Bharat Forge’s sectoral knowledge to improve the efficiency and precision of production systems.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Baba Kalyani, Chairman and Managing Director, Bharat Forge; Amit Kalyani; Abhijit Moharir, Senior Vice President and Group CIO, Kalyani Group; Keerthi Kiran Gautham, Associate Vice President, Bharat Forge; Rory Sexton; Shomit Manapure, General Manager, Agile Robots North America; Saravanan Solaiappan, Managing Director, Agile Robots India; and Michael Schneider, Managing Director, Ideal Works.
