Dr Karthik will lead the Embedded System Products and Technology (ESPT) Organization at Analog Devices India (ADI)
Analog Devices, Inc. a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal-processing applications, has appointed Dr Karthik Sankaran as the General Manager of Embedded System Products and Technology (ESPT) Group. He is based out of Analog Devices’ India office in Bangalore.
Confirming the announcement, Richard Meaney, Vice President – Products and Technology Group said, “Karthik brings many years of engineering and business experience to his new role, and was a key contributor in developing Bangalore as a Center Of Excellence (CoE) in SHARC™ and BlackFin™ DSP products. Karthik established the embedded microcontroller capability for ADI that has enabled some of our most complex and successful ASSPs.”
Karthik has been with ADI for more than fifteen years. He started as a design manager in the IC design team at Analog Devices India, responsible for the design of SHARC DSPs. He was also the Managing Director of ADI’s India Product Development Center Bangalore, from 2002 to 2006. In his previous role at ADI, Karthik was the Director of Integrated Systems and Digital Platforms Group (ISDG).
Karthik has more than twenty five years’ of industry experience in areas spanning chip design, software development and management. He is an active participant in the VLSI design ecosystem in India. Karthik has served as the program chair, sponsorship chair, fellowship chair and design contest chair at the International VLSI Design Conference held annually in India. He has also has been a member of the board of studies for Electrical & Electronics department at PSG College of Technology. He has been involved with SASTRA University and Amrita University for the curriculum development for M.Tech in VLSI.
Karthik pursued M.S and Ph.D. in computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, U.S.A. He did his bachelors in engineering from PSG College of Technology (Madras University).
