Chikuya Takada, head – Product Planning, NNMIPL said, “We knew that the key to the success of the Datsun brand was that the cars must be developed, engineered and manufactured locally. By working this way, we have a unique insight into customer needs which enables us to build a car that meets and even exceeds those expectations. After working for the Datsun project we realised that India has huge potential in terms of product development and has immense engineering capability. Our engineers in Renault Nissan Technology Business Centre Pvt Ltd have done a wonderful job by bringing a highly localised product with the help of local engineering capabilities.”
