To provide more power and torque the company has tweaked the engine to provide 8.3 hp at 7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm against 8.18 hp and 8.1 Nm of torque respectively for Star City Sport. Meanwhile the company also claims that the new motorcycle delivers a fuel efficiency of 86 kmpl and on the actual road condition it gives 65 kmpl.

We have been largely absent in this high volume commuter bikes segment. We have been selling 25,000-30,000 motorcycles per month but with Start City+, we hope to touch 50,000 units in next 6 months. We will be launching Scooty Zest in the coming months, followed by a new Victor and Apache.”

The carburetor optimisation aids better charge preparation and inlet port providing high charge motion. It is triggered by an intelligent ignition system which provides optimum spark based on speed and load ensuring the TVS StaR City+ deliver better torque at all engine speeds. The engine is mated to a four speed gearbox, which has the added feature of electric start in any gear. Other features include a stainless steel muffler guard, chrome finished handlebars, colored shock absorbers, power/economy mode, service indicator and a dual tone seat.
