Steelbird launched a new range of Lubricants. Automotive components manufacturer Steelbird International has launched a new range of engine oils and lubricants for the 2-wheeler segment via a virtual event. The range of Lubricants consists of Engine oil, Grease, and Fork oil. Steelbird Engine Oil is classified into several variants ideally suited for different types of 2-wheelers.
How to find which type of oil suits your 2-Wheeler?
One of the best ideas is to read the user Manual where all the technical information is mentioned based on your vehicle. Even though Engine Oils look very similar but they are different depending upon the vehicle which you ride. Oils are majorly divided on the basis of ‘Grade’ i.e 10W-40, 10W-50 4T. Yes, these are confusing, and here is a quick guide that actually denotes what these numbers mean.
Oil grade ‘XX W-YY’
- The first two numbers(here XX) denote the viscosity of the oil at a lower temperature (i.e Oil will flow without losing its properties which will be pumped easily at lower temperatures)
- The lower the number here, the less it thickens in the cold. So 5W-30 viscosity engine oil thickens less in the cold than a 10W-30, but more than a 0W-30
Now ‘W- YY’
- These two (W & YY) denotes when the oil will lose its properties and will become thin and lose its Viscous properties as well)
- For example, 10W-30 oil will thin out at higher temperatures faster than 10W-40 will.
One of the biggest myths is ‘W’ stands for Winter not Weight.
With strict compliance to globally accepted standards of lubricants, Steelbird Engine Oils are ideally suited for Indian conditions with the right blend of oil and additives to make every ride pleasurable and hassle-free.
