French tyre maker Michelin today launched its new X MULTI range of tubeless radial tyres targeting Indian commercial vehicle market. The new tyre is specially engineered and produced at its Chennai plant that currently manufactures tyres for medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV). The new tyre comes in 2 models: Z (steer axle) and D (drive axle) offering Indian fleet owners with versatile on Indian conditions, safety and optimised operating economy.

Michelin claims that the new tyre can offer 4% more fuel efficient comparing other tyres. The X Multi has new tread rubber compound that slows the rubber wear and tear to offer higher tyre life. The new bead design of the inner tyre has more metallic wire for higher strength and endurance for long distance drives. The newly launched tubeless radial truck and bus tyres will be available at authorised Michelin dealer network at Rs 20,000 excluding local taxes as applicable.
